A plan holds your rooms: a bathroom, a powder room, a kitchen or laundry sink. Each room is drawn to scale from a few measurements, and every fixture you place is checked as you add it.

What you will need

A tape measure. All sizes are in whole inches.
The room's width, depth and ceiling height.
Where the tub or shower and each basin or sink sit, measured from the left and top walls of your sketch.
For each fixture: where it goes, how high, and (for wired lights) its location marking from the box or spec sheet.

Draw it once. Place every light.
